virtual therapy
The many benefits of virtual therapy sessions:
Easy to access – Allows for flexible scheduling. All you need is wifi, a phone, and a private space.
Convenient – No need for travel; just hop online when it’s time for an appointment.
Comfortable – Kids and young adults value doing sessions from the comfort of home or college. They have lots of experience building and maintaining online relationships.
Continuity – Sessions can continue as students transition to college, even during travel or relocation.

Before telehealth was widely adopted, I was only able to work in person with young adults and families in the New Jersey and Connecticut areas. Students I had supported for years would go off to college, but licensing limitations forced us to discontinue our sessions. Imagine cutting off a trusted relationship at a time when clients need support the most. Parents would often tell me how difficult it was for their kids to start over with a new psychologist, and that colleges didn’t offer ideal options for therapy. Students were stuck without any mental health support while they were away from home. Thanks to advancements in technology and updated licensing regulations, I can now provide young adults, teens, and college students, wherever they are, with the guidance they need during critical transitions in their lives.
