Virtual therapy can feel like a big step. Here are some answers to common questions about telehealth, insurance, and therapy sessions to help you feel informed and comfortable. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out!

  • I do not accept insurance but will provide you with a statement that includes all the codes necessary to receive out-of-network benefits from your insurance provider.

  • I provide individual virtual therapy for teens and young adults aged 15 and up. I also work with parents of children under 15 years old.

  • Yes, I do work with parents.

    • For clients who are minors (under 18):
I help parents learn how to set limits on screen time/gaming, manage substance use, to establish healthy sleep routines and homework habits. I also help parents communicate more effectively with their teens by identifying when to press an issue and when to back off.

    • For clients over 18:
While young adults are legally adults, they may not always be ready to navigate the world without support. I help parents find a balance between being supportive and fostering independent growth. If their young adult consents to our communication, I provide feedback on progress and help parents fine-tune their support.

    • For parents with children younger than 15 years old:
Since the virtual format can be distracting, I don’t work individually with children under 15. However, I work with parents of younger children on a variety of issues, including tantrums or resistant behavior, excessive gaming, anxiety or persistent negative thinking, sleep difficulties, and sibling conflicts.

  • Virtual therapy sessions are 45 minutes long, with the initial session lasting one hour.
